Applause! Applause!
To the increasing number of Brides and Grooms who wish to share their happiness by donating or contributing to a charity (in lieu of wedding gifts or wedding favors). For more information go to Justgive.org (866-587-8448) or Idofoundation.org (202-449-1066) or Bridalgarden.org (212-252-0661) or Makingmemories.org (503-252-3955) or Komen.org or Cinderellaproject.org or Glassslipperproject.org.
To the florists that include “pinning boutonnieres on the Groom, the Fathers, and the Groomsmen” as part of their wedding day service.
To the Brides and Grooms who have a clear cut idea of what type of wedding ceremony and reception they want . . and they pursue it with joy, laughter, and excitement.
To all the great wedding cake bakers in this world who make a “moist, flavorful cake.”
To all the Brides and Grooms that send THANK YOU notes out in a timely manner.
To all the ceremony and reception sites that have established “a dress code” for wedding guests. Guests are not permitted to wear inappropriate clothing (bib overalls, advertising or message T-shirts, bare midriff tops, flip flops, shorts, hunting clothes, bowling shirts, baseball caps, and jeans).
To all the owners, managers, and employees of men’s formal wear stores who inform the Groom and his Groomsmen what formal wear is appropriate for the time of day, the time of year and the setting.
To the Brides and Grooms who are considerate of their guests . . . especially when making plans for outdoor weddings in June, July, and August.
To the owners and managers of bed and breakfasts, country clubs, and resorts who welcome their guests with bouquets of fresh flowers.
To everyone who returns telephone calls! It’s the courteous thing to do!
